Man with Hat Paint Palette Canvas, 8″x10″

Description

This painting is a small canvas that I used as a paint palette for multiple paintings.  Once a palette is overwhelmed with paint then I set it aside and begin a new one.  As a creative exercise to stretch the imagination, I sit back and gaze at the palette, turning it in different directions trying to find a “picture” within the paint.  I then use an acrylic paint marker or get out my paint brush and add in details to create the picture that I see.

I decided to start using small canvases for my paint palettes after visiting studios of other artists.  I always found the palettes with piles and swirls of colors intriguing.  Not only did they have an abundance of color but they also gave insight into how the artist worked with the color.
